a long suspension bridge spans a huge valley
people are waiting for some sort of transoprtation
a guy is getting ready to board when...
THERE'S A BRIGHT LIGHT!
the vehicles on the bridge look up as cables begin to snap
the bridge breaks in two
the ark is present overhead
cut to interior of ark, vash is balanced on the stub of his left arm
legato is keeping him under wraps
knives pressures vash to join his side, blaming the humans for everything
vash counters, saying this is all knives fault anyway
for this, vash's body is instantly and painfully contorted like an unloved action figure
knives signals to legato
legato allows vash's body to crash into the ground
on the ground: wolfwood lights a cigarette and looks up
back on the ark: elandira has received another transmission from a human settlement demanding knives cease and desist
the people in the town look up amazed
the army is trying to figure out how to take the ship down when three figures approach
wolfwood swings his weapon around and shoots, most of the bullets falling in front of the army
the old man chides wolfwood for not killing efficiently
livio kills everyone
wolfwood puts a gun to the old man's head, tells him to tell livio to stop, but it's already too late
everyone is dead
up on the ark - knives looks down, he sees plant angels looking up, begging to be saved
he looks at his brother, scarred and helpless on the floor
more sibling rivalry
knives asks vash if he's forgotten about tessla
wrong thing to ask. KNIVES, LEGATO LOOK ON AMAZED/SHOCKED
VASH MOVES HIS OWN ARM, he crawls towards knives.
vash has NEVER. forgotten. about tessla.
knives looks at vash, his expression is crazed.
when knives kills the humans...they'll all be even...
chap 2
vash's fist SLAMS into the ground...legato is regaining control
back on the ground - wolfwood confronts livio
the reason why wolfwood is cooperating: the bad guys have taken the orphanage hostage
wolfwood tries to attack the old man, but livio stands in his way
livio, apparently, can never betray him.
the foot soldiers hold wolfwood down
livio: i'm...always being watched
the old guy looks up...
knives free-falls off the ark
cut to the bridge from earlier. the army is surveying the damage
bad shit is going down in the isolated town
the army finally gets across after 7 days and...
they find a survivor who tells them all the plants were removed from the town
the cavalry approach the town and no one is left alive
knives sucked all those plant angels into him...
cut to the bay of the ark...it's totally full of plant angels
missiles are fired at the ark
elandira disables them all with her nails
vash screams from behind metal bars
vash looks worn out
legato looks like he's getting tired
from atop a sandworm, zazie surveys the dammage
wolfwood can't even enjoy a cigarette anymore
all manners of death/carnage/starvation
SEVEN MONTHS LATER...look what the cat drug in...
milly and meryl arrive at doc's seed ship
chap 3
meryl and milly seem to have been on some sort of fact-finding mission
they tell the rest of the crew the status of the surrounding towns
brad is fitting an airship with missiles
meryl asks if they're going to fight
what they're really doing is attempting to rescue vash
meryl tells everyone vash's past
the crew freaks out, doubting vash
luida stands up for him. he's the only one who's ever fought knives and lived
flashback of vash walking away to fight knives
flashback of luida running after him...
luida realizes if there is a catastrophy like the one in july again, it will only be to stop knives
meryl and luida share a moment...
RANDOM PLANT MEMORY - a kid is looking at the plant and talking to her
knives AND vash saw it...
wolfwood looks up
somewhere in the desert, the cavalry is mounting an attack
they spot the ark
up in the air, brad spots the ark
the ark is totally destroying the army
knives laughs...but his body reacts...
his knee buckles and he sees...people...
lots of people...
smiling people...
these are the memories of the plant angels
and knives loses it
elandira yells at him
a missile from the army breaches the hull of the ark
elandira goes to finish off the army when there's a hit from behind
brad tells the airship closest to the ark to turn back, but it's too late
a giant nail can be seen lodged in the ship
suddenly, there's an explosion from inside.
wolfwood shouts at vash,
vash's depleated face PERKS UP!
wolfwood busts through the door
legato...his eyes are soooo heavy...
the door falls open
wolfwood enters...
chapter 4
wolfwood holds a gun to legato's head, but he can't pull the trigger
legato forces wolfwood to turn the gun on himself
...but...while legato is focusing on wolfwood...
vash begins to move
wolfwood's been biding his time to come and rescue vash...he was waiting for legato to get worn down
wolfwood's gun points at his head
vash gets a little more power
a baby angel arm blows a hole in the iron bars
a very drained vash groggily climbs out of his cell
vash is emerging
LEGATO FREAKS!
vash SLAMS backwards into the metal bars
wolfwood is free, shoots at legato
blood splatters out of legato...but it was not a direct hit.
legato lies in a pool of blood...
SUDDENLY WOLFWOOD POINTS THE GUN AT HIS CHEST AND FIRES!
legato looks up from his pool of blood
cut to exterior of ark
wolfwood is carrying vash over his shoulder, leaving a trail of blood behind him
he looks up, sees livio
wolfwood and livio have a past
livio totally shoots wolfwood
wolfwood loses hold of his cross, vash tumbles behind him
he coughs up blood, pulls his cross towards him
wheelchair guy is behind him
wolfwood fires a missile, the old guy dodges and uses his cross weapon to pole-vault down the stairs away from the blast
the wheelchair guy is over wolfwood, he fires repeatedly
wheelchair guy aims at wolfwood and fires, hitting wolfwood, blood splattering everywhere
he lands next to vash
livio and wheelchair guy look on
wolfwood looks at the two like an injured dog
wolfwood can't aim at livio
he has a memory of the orphanage, of livio as a child, of livio then and now, of livio now
he coughs blood everywhere
the guys approach
wolfwood sees little livio
wolfwood stands, trying to lift his cross punisher
a bullet hits him in the chest, more go through is body
suddenly a feather curls up to block a bullet from hitting wolfwood
vash is transformed and blocks the bullets
vash aims an index-finger's worth of angel arm at the bad guys
knives senses vash's power and freaks
vash levitates
vash looks at the hull...the place where the missile punctured the ship is being defended/healed by wings...escaping won't be easy at all...
elandira appears, explains to vash that knives is quite different from the man he last met
elandira says give up
vash says hell no
vash summons his angel arm
knives really wants to be the one to kill vash...(great brother...)
vash looks like he's having a hard time controling his angel arm
elandira screams for him to stop, but vash kind of smirks apologetically
the gun end is pointing down
he cuts/sucks up a hole in the plant-angel-hull and wolfwood and vash fall through
knife-like feathers race down after them
one touches vash...but knives can't fuse...
vash and wolfwood fall into the desert
knives brings his hand to his face...
knives: it's over.
chap 5
the rescue ship finds' wolfwood's cross punisher in the sand
they begin scouring for vash and wolfwood
they're under a rock overhang
vash looks at wolfwood with a very worried/helpless expression
but wolfwood isn't dead
he takes a vial out of his coat pocket and drinks it
somehow...vash has never heard of the eye of michael...
flashback - wolfwood is a kid at target practice
his instructor lauds him for his abilities, then shoots him in the leg and the shoulder
the instructor says modifications are necessary
there are vials of liquid hanging over wolfwood who is bandaged and restrained
-automated healing
-a body like steal
-advanecd muscular mass
-god-like sensory abilities
wolfwood in present - he thinks about the orphanage, how his modifications make him look so much older that no one would recognise him
(that's right, wolfwood is a LOT LOT LOT younger than he looks)
wolfwood shot the guy in the wheelchair to assume his identity in the ghg's (CHAPEL) in order to assassinate knives
wolfwood thinks of livio
wolfwood loses consciousness
vash freaks
wolfwood just wants to sleep
some time later, brad finds the two
on the rescue ship - the ark's power has weakened
knives seems to be affected by the plants he's been absorbing
the moment when the long feather touched vash as he was falling, he felt what knives was feeling
knives has passed karkassas and is going to december...where the orphanage is...
vash looks at wolfwood
brad reveals the earth ships are going to arrive earlier than predicted...which is bad
now they have less time to stop knives, who will cut the ships out of the sky if left undefeated.
they ask if the ships will have plants
vash says it won't matter, knives will be able to fuse with them while they're still in space
they land at a town, marlon is there
marlon tells vash that a little pushy girl ordered him to make another gun
he tosses it to vash
vash looks at it
he asks about the "little girl"
marlon tells him not to die so he can thank her himself
marlon even fixes wolfwood's cross punisher
(i'm not really sure where this is...must be december...)
elandira tells knives to stop, that the stench is there, too
knives floats down to the bottom of a broken bulb
he sees a dead plant
he picks it up...and crushes it against his body
wolfwood, looking totally freakin cool for no reason except to indicate that the cross punisher is back
wolfwood takes off without vash towards december
