chapel has his weapon pointed at wolfwood (someone forgot to color his hair in, i think...)
wolfwood thinks back to vash's words
chapel thinks the end of the world is nigh
wolfwood has faith in vash
chapel lifts wolfwood's chin with his weapon
chapel's about to off wolfwood when...
razlo blocks him
razlo wants more fun
razlo turns around and shoots wolfwood
wolfwood has 3 whole vials left
razlo shoots wolfwood some more
chapel comments that wolfwood had intended to survive this battle
chapel tells razlo if razlo doesn't kill wolfwood, it will be a fatal mistake
chapel gets out of his wheelchair
chapel totally stabs wolfwood in the chest with his weapon
chapel tells wolfwood he is going to kill everyone who is important to him (which is a little bit ironic since at the beginning of this chapter, chapel himself was telling wolfwood that the world is about to end anyway...)
chap 2
chapel removes his weapon from wolfwood's chest.
wolfwood's leg convulses
razlo looks on sadly
chapel tells wolfwood he brought this upon himself
as chapel is looking down at wolfwood, razlo wonders how chapel treats his normal disciples
flashback - livio is completely restrained
razlo has killed 9 of the eye of michael's best men
chapel walks up to the table and slides a satchel of vials down the table
he shoots himself in the chest
livio watches
chapel shoots himself again
chapel begs for razlo's life
present - outside the orphanage
soldiers are holding melanie and the kids at gunpoint
melanie realizes that wolfwood is wolfwood
chapel stabs wolfwood again
the soldiers shoot at the kids, but don't hit any of them
melanie tells them to run away
but none of them run
chapel lifts wolfwood's chin with his foot
wolfwood looks at melanie as she recognises him
his eyes are sad
chapel laughs maniacally
melanie starts to cry when she realizes wolfwood has taken such responsibility onto himself
wolfwood is full of regret
wolfwood smiles and thinks of vash
chapel sits forcefully on wolfwood
wolfwood gets stabbed again by chapel
wolfwood looks up and sees his vials hanging in chapel's clothes
as chapel raises his weapon a final time to administer the fatal blow, wolfwood lunges up and sinks his teeth into the vials
an airship appears overhead
chapel points his gun at melanie and the kids
razlo arms himself
wolfwood asks if this is the end
near wolfwood's head, a spent bullet casing falls to the ground
livio and chapel look surprised
VASH HAS BLOCKED THE BULLETS AND NO KIDS DIE!!!
wolfwood looks shocked-like at vash
vash looks back
chap 3
wolfwood can't believe vash is here. vash has more important things to do
razlo can't believe vash stopped the bullets
razlo wants to attack vash
vash looks back at razlo stoicly
(this next sequence, i believe, takes 10 seconds)
defensive feathers surround vash as razlo unleashes his fury
wolfwood starts chomping into vials
he swallows one and begins to lift himself up with chapel's weapon
his wounds start to sizzle as they heal
chapel pulls out a gun and shoots
chapel realizes that wolfwood's body is regenerating as fast as he can shoot him
this means...WOLFWOOD DRANK TWO VIALS!!!
wolfwood gets up
razlo continues with his onslaught on vash
vash is protecting himself and the kids
chapel looks horrified as wolfwood stands up
it's official, wolfwood's buying the next round
i believe what's happening here is wolfwood has elbowed chapel in the face and wolfwood flips him over
(end of sequence)
vash looks like he's running out of steam
razlo's just getting started...but chapel crashes to the ground right in front of him and continues to roll past him
razlo is shocked
chapel's neck is broken
razlo cries out for his master
soldiers come a-runnin' and surround razlo and chapel in a defensive circle
wolfwood makes a mad dash for his punisher
and, as badasses are wont to do, wolfwood whips out his shades (look, even vash has his on...)
wolfwood might be talking telepathically with vash...i don't know, but vash sends the kids into the orphanage as per wolfwood's request
everybody just stares at vash
vash acts silly
razlo is kneeling before chapel
razlo cries out in rage (someone has abandonment issues)
wolfwood looks at razlo through the soldiers' defensive line
razlo has a clear shot of wolfwood
razlo attacks!
vash looks worried
wolfwood looks wolfwoody
FLASHBACK - wolfwood recounts his thoughts upon first meeting vash
present - razlo charges
wolfwood aims at razlo
vash motions protectively for the orphans to get to safety (for REAL this time)
wolfwood and vash take off at the exact same moment
wolfwood has his sights on the two soliders
vash is aiming at razlo
they fire simultaneously
razlo skids away, the two soldiers fall to the ground
razlo can't believe how in tune with each other vash and wolfwood are
how many times have they faught together?
wolfwood takes this occasion to light up
wolfwood and vash lay into each other with the exact same thing, "YOU REALLY HAD ME WORRIED FOR A WHILE BACK THERE!!"
they make silly faces
wolfwood clocks vash
wolfwood asks why vash came
vash just gets old and looks down
wolfwood apologizes for the age remark
chap 4
one of the soldiers breaks up the lovefest by tossing a granade at vash and wolfwood
they both dodge and take cover in the ruins of a building
vash and wolfwood reload
livio and the solidiers approach
wolfwood tells vash to stay out of it with razlo
vash says HELL NO.
he tells wolfwood he has to live!
wolfwood smiles and tells vash it's no use (possibly because of those two vials, wolfwood is gonna die anyway...)
vash. can't. believe. what. he's. hearing.
vash yells at wolfwood to get ahold of himself
just then a knife with a granade attached implants itself in the wall next to vash's head
vash moves out of the way fast, but he's still thrown by the blast
the soldiers have fist fulls of throwing knives
wolfwood covers vash as vash is thrown over to where wolfwood is, throwing knives littering the ground
vash gets it, knives has to fight this guy alone just like vash has to fight knives all by his lonesome
vash has a mini flashback before his head collides with the ground
wolfwood rushes to vash, but he gets hit with a knife in the leg and stumbles
vash catches him
vash is shocked...because
when vash catches wolfwood, his hand sinks into missing flesh/bullet holes, and vash knows this is most likely the end for wolfwood
the soldiers launch another offensive
vash shields wolfwood and takes the full attack in the shoulder
wolfwood sees this and opens fire on the soldiers
wolfwood realizes he's still leaning on vash
vash helps to set in upright
his hand slowly leaves wolfwood's side
wolfwood gives him a look, "so now you know..."
vash does know. WOLFWOOD IS GOING TO DIE. no ammount of intervention on his part during wolfwood's fight with razlo with help his friend now.
the soldiers come at them again
vash shoots at the soldiers 5 times
they both fall to their knees
vash fires his last shot at razlo, sending some hair flying and leaving a crisp bullet cutout in the bridge of razlo's nose.
wolfwood watches as vash spins his gun around and...
i think...wolfwood smacks him.
vash finally walks away
wolfwood takes a gun out. he apologizes to vash
vash looks very, very alone
livio wants both vash and wolfwood to come at him
wolfwood, instead, smokes a cigarette
wolfwood calls razlo a punk
like a chess game of death, wolfwood warns razlo that if he doesn't move, his pretty face is going to get hurt
razlo laughs
razlo opens fire with all three punishers. spent shells are GOING. EVERYWHERE.
through the debris and bullet-induced haze, he sees a cross
wolfwood is charging towards razlo, and using his punisher to block almost all of razlo's shots (he does take one in the shoulder, though)
chap 5
wolfwood is still charging into razlo's attack
his sunglasses get blown away
razlo fires three missiles at wolfwood, who turns suddenly
wolfwood blocks all three with his punisher
it blows the outside casing off the punisher and pushes wolfwood back
but to razlo's dismay, wolfwood regains his footing
and swings the punisher into razlo
razlo laughs. he has caught wolfwood's punisher between two of his own and wolfwood is effectively screwed.
AH!!! but wolfwood changes strategies.
with one end of his punisher he shoots through the trigger mechanism of razlo's punisher on the right
razlo looks on as bullet casings rain into his face
the ruined punisher is discarded
(fast sequence)
wolfwood climbs up on one of razlo's thighs
and leaps up into the air to avoid razlo's overhead attack from his bionic arm
wolfwood pulls out a pistol and ejects the magazine
and with his foot, JAMS it into the space between razlo's back and bionic arm
while still in air, wolfwood opens fire again, aiming for the full magazine now implanted in razlo's back
he shoots and the entire arm is blown off (perhaps an allusion to what will happen with knives? maybe..?)
razlo was not expecting that. his bionic arm, which is now attached to him by threads, dropps the cross punisher
wolfwood falls to the ground.
(end sequence)
vash looks on from afar, unable to do anything
razlo now has one punisher left...an even match?
razlo's tired, but wolfwood isn't done
ready for the next round? TOO LATE! an explosion out of nowhere signals the beginning of the end
razlo and wolfwood both perry with their punishers, dodging bullets the whole time.
razlo is shocked to find...wolfwood is getting FASTER
finally, wolfwood gets a shot in that actually hits razlo
and razlo is shocked when a string of bullets surrounds his body
wolfwood empties the bullet chamber of his punisher and the bullets completely wrap around razlo's body
razlo knows he's in trouble as...
wolfwood takes out a single pistol...
and puts the gun up to a single bullet...
he fires, setting off a chain reaction that causes every single bullet to explode around razlo, and his pretty face
CHECKMATE!
razlo knows he can't withstand another attack
he watches as wolfwood raises his punisher again...
and then...lets it fall
and instead he punches razlo in his blownup face
chap 6
wolfwood pounds away on razlo's face
vash isn't watching...he can hardly stand it
as soon as razlo begins regenerating, wolfwood starts pounding him again...causing immense pain
vash can't take it anymore and begins to scream
wolfwood. keeps. pounding.
wolfwood takes a break as razlo's wounds begin to regenerate
he coughs blood
he reaches into his pocket to grab his last vial...but it slips out of his fingers
and rolls out of reach...
blood starts spurting out of wolfwood uncontrolled
razlo continues to regenerate
razlo summons the soldiers
vash watches as the cloth on their backs pops off and reveals tubes
the tubes empty into their spines and they become bigger/stronger/meaner/etc
they make a mad dash at razlo, but...
VASH WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS
vash does a flip and shoots both soldiers away, incapacitating them.
vash has his two guns to their two necks, and he looks very, very serious.
they are NOT to touch wolfwood.
razlo is almost healed
razlo straightens his hand and seems to completely plunge it through wolfwood
but upon closer inspection, it is razlo HIMSELF who he has plunged into
bony, unregenerated protrusions are lodged in razlo's healed arm
razlo looks shocked...and then sees...LIVIO!
razlo's eyes go wide
wolfwood's eyes go wide as he sees something from behind razlo
wolfwood pushes razlo away just in time...
to take the full brunt of chapel's last attack
razlo looks behind him to see chapel's mangled form and his cross punisher missing its bottom
and chapel was not aiming for wolfwood...but for RAZLO!
razlo realizes that chapel meant to kill him and opens fire on chapel's dead body
he screams in anguish and turns his gun on the very injured wolfwood
but in the nick of time, livio restrains razlo
livio and razlo have a heart-to-heart
livio's body screams as the internal struggle continues
livio wins!
when livio grows up, he wants to be just like wolfwood...
vash relaxes, and the struggling soldiers go still
LIVIO IS BACK!
in the interim, wolfwood has dislodged chapel's weapon and lit up.
chap 7
flashback - wolfwood leaving the orphanage
an eye of michael associate waits outside of the orphanage for him
he turns around and everyone at the orphanage is throwing confetti and crying, telling him he can always come back
and...it's only been six years since then... (wolfwood is like 17 or 18 at the max, i believe)
present - the seeds airship, brad gets a transission about the ark
vash pushes the doors to the orphanage open and tells everybody it's going to be ok
a kid looks over and sees...a mangled wolfwood standing before a field of blood
and said kid starts freaking out
vash tries to intervene, but wolfwood tells him to get them out of here. this isn't stuff kids should see anyway
livio sits huddled behind a crumbling wall of a building
brad comes running up and tells vash the ark is going to be there in no time
vash looks up and can see it in the distance
brad tells the kids to get what they need
while melanie is packing, she comes accross a bag...
she thinks of wolfwood, he'd asked her not to tell the kids it was him
of course the kids are asking questions...and melanie looks at them sadly
wolfwood grabs a bottle of alcohol as vash asks if this is really the way he wants to leave things
wolfwood clobbers vash,
and hands him his ghg coin along with rai dei's
vash looks sad
wolfwood says he can't go, but vash wants him to get on that ship and live!
livio shows up and says he'll try to explain things to everybody,
but he trips and ends up under two tables
vash and wolfwood watch as the airship takes off
vash asks wolfwood if he's ok
wolfwood says he is
and that he's glad vash came
they make their way over to a couch that managed not to be blown to smithereens
they both have a drink
wolfwood apologizes for saying vash had an empty smile
vash prays to god
wolfwood tells vash to smile
paper is falling around them...
wolfwood looks up...to see confetti coming from the airship
melanie has told the kids about wolfwood, she remembers back to when the kids filled this bag waiting for wolfwood's return
back to the ship, the kids are throwing confetti and brad's getting pissed
an image of the orphans and melanie with wolfwood
wolfwood looks up and cries
vash looks up, hears the bell in the steeple of the orphanage toll
wolfwood's body goes limp and he drops the bottle of alcohol
vash leans over
livio is unconsious
vash starts to weep
the ark passes overhead
chap 8
a shot of a grave marker
livio awakens, he thinks he's heard thunder
livio remembers the last thing he saw when he passed out: the ark passing overhead
food is being prepared
livio is surprised and looks around the corner
he walks into the room to see vash is alone, eating
livio looks gravely at him, and walks right past him and out the door
where's wolfwood?
oh...there he is...dead...in the ground
livio asks vash where nicolas is
vash looks at him wearily...he tells livio wolfwood is dead
livio looks stricken
livio slides down the wall
he asks why wolfwood did it.
vash tells him he should know the answer better than anyone
livio asks why vash is so calm
vash tells him to eat
livio looks at vash...and sees that 3/4ths of his hair is now black...and he realizes that "thunder" he heard was vash's angel arm against the ark
flashback - from the ark, knives sharp poky feathers are lashing down towards vash on the couch
vash is still sitting on the couch with wolfwood
his arm is activating
the feathers are coming at him at top speed
somehow, knives feathers meet with some sort of barrier
knives' cheek is grazed
knives looks down at vash as vash looks up at knives
knives laughs at vash as vash remains huddled on the couch
present - wolfwood tells livio to eat
livio thinks back to the first time he met wolfwood
vash makes more food as livio eats what's on the table
vash produces spaghetti
they both eat furiously
vash thinks of the time with wolfwood as eriks when they fought over food
they both continue to stuff their faces
livio's eyes tear up
they even eat salad because it's good for you
the sun rises and they're still at the table
"oh crap...we really ate too much"
vash gets up and hands livio wolfwood's remaining things
"take it and never forget about him."
vash places the wrapped cross punisher at the head of wolfwood's grave marker
livio asks which way vash is going
vash is going west after the ark
