Chapter 1
A flashback of Knives CRUSHING Legato at Jeonora rock...
Present: Legato looks a-okay (physically, anyway...)
Backtrack a little bit...In the spaceship, they're about to fire at Knives
But Knives has a whole CITY below him!
THEY FIRE ANYWAY!
Somehow...the beam is...ANNIHILATED!!
Legato looks up, waiting, then hears something
Blood plops onto the ground
Vash's knee slides out from under him as he screams out
He drops his gun
He's breathing heavy
He bends down to pick it up...
but he can't...LEGATO HAS TAKEN OVER HIS BODY!
Legato has Vash twisted like a pretzel
Flashback: Knives and Legato
Present: Vash is struggling against Legato's control
Vash is fighting, fighting, blood drips from him
He manages to sit up and blood goes EVERYWHERE
Vash puts his fake arm down in front of him and grits his teeth
Legato wonders why he continues...
He GRABS Vash by the collar and drags him up, only to see his eyes completely empty
Legato sees himself in Vash
Neither have a place in this world
Legato laughs
Legato goes to...attack??
NOPE, he's just going for the coin case
He it's a button...
AND...nothing happens.
Legato explains the device
Then Legato tucks the device inside...Vash's holster? Sure...
Vash thinks over the other GHGs and is shocked by Legato's words...
Chapter 2
Vash is shocked and angered
Legato is amused
Legato lifts the spell
and VASH DRAWS!
Pointing his gun at Legato's head...he's won..
But Vash is dismayed by Legato's reaction...
He BITES down on Vash's gun, urging him to shoot
Legato's arms seem to be...mechanically attached...
He summons a club with a chain connected to it
Legato PULLS, and the mace from earlier shows up again...CRUSHING VASH?!??!
His coat is poking out from the bottom of the mace!
Legato seems to have a moment of fear as to what Knives' reaction will be, but Knives has bigger fish to fry at the moment...
Knives and Legato both smile...
Meanwhile, Livio engages Elandira
Elandira is standing there holding her case one moment...
THEN STABING LIVIO IN THE SIDE THE NEXT!
Livio's body repels the knife stuck in his body
Elandira figured that would happen
Livio again asks where the general is...
A flash to a nail-stuffed corpse
Elandira had something to do with that...
Elandira shoots a nail at Livio,
but somehow he ends up behind her
NO MATTER! Faster than he can react, she has swung her gun around and aimed again
She SKEWERS Livio, then strategizes
Wait...it only LOOKS like he got skewered... He's too cool for that!
Meanwhile, the fleet begins to launch small ships down toward the planet...
Chapter 3
The small ships approach Octovern at a great speed
Back to Legato...His mace is stuck...sticking through the floor.
Legato can see patches of blood on the level below
Vash got away through the floor...
Legato pulls the chain and shoulders the mace
Legato goes to the next level down
There is a trail of blood
Legato bends down...and LAPS IT UP WITH HIS TONGUE!!
Legato listens silently, then suddenly...
He THROWS his mace up and KICKS it towards a closed door
The mace comes THISCLOSE to disfiguring Vash
Conversation
To Vash's great consternation, the mace suddenly transforms, some of its pokey bits unscrew to reveal GUN MUZZLES!
Meanwhile, Livio and Elandira continue their battle
Livio fires, but Elandira blocks with her case
Then takes aim and fires off four rounds
She looks over to see...
Livio has avoided all the nails...
Livio avoids EVEN MORE NAILS in order...to collect...his hat and cape...
Chapter 4
Elandira and Livio face off
Suddenly Elandira puts down her case
Then suddenly Elandira removes her cape to reveal a strange suit with muscular bands that are keeping her from using her full force
The bands all snap off at once, she's fighting with full force now...
Livio is too slow, she comes up and grabs the back of his head while she propells a nail straight through his torso
Before Livio can do anything, 13 more nails are coming his way (Nightow, I see what you did there...since she's GHG #13, right? I thought so...or not)
SPEEDLINES DOWN THE HALL as Livio SCREAMS!
Elandira surveys her handiwork
Meanwhile, Legato's mace starts firing
He wants Vash to FIGHT
Meanwhile, the small detachment from the fleet land at Octovern and are ushered in to where Luida is
Presentation
Conversation The Earthers want to talk to Vash
But he's fighting by himself far away right now...
Speaking of which, Legato has him cornered
Legato sees a spark or a light or a flash of something
He pulls the mace back...
but it's been CUT IN HALF
Vash is crouched, holding his right arm...he has used his angel arm...
HIS HAIR IS COMPLETELY BLACK!
Meanwhile, down a dark hallway,
Elandira converses with a very perforated Livio
But someone else is listening...
Chapter 5
Livio/Razlo flashback
Back to Elandira and Livio...er...Razlo
Razlo uses his arm to push against the wall, nails and all
He FLIPS over Elandira's head
She tries to fire, but the nail she launches crashes into the head of another one already lodged in Razlo's body
Blood squirts everywhere
Razlo did manage to jam Elandira's gun, though
Razlo opens fire, Elandira blocks with her case
Razlo goes CRAZY shooting, Elandira has to leap back, completely covered by her case
She is forced back to the wall with nails stuck in it from Livio
Razlo KICKS the case, forcing Elandira back
She runs into the nails she previously shot
It looks like Razlo has the advantage,
But Elandira is just taking a breather
From somewhere, she summons nails...grabs Razlo's face...
and EVISCERATES RAZLO'S BODY WITH THEM!
DECAPITATING RAZLO!
But wait...it was all in his head, GIVING ELANDIRA TIME TO UNJAM HER WEAPON!
She pulls the bent nail out and THROWS it to the side
Then PUMPS Razlo full of nails!
Chapter 6
Elandira looks over an injured Razlo
He can't feel the rest of his body
She pulls her weapon up and aims it directly down toward Razlo
And OPENS FIRE, severing a leg
She swings the weapon around, landing it on Razlo's head
Wolfwood's healing vials fall out of his pocket
He thinks back to Wolfwood and when Vash gave them to him
JUST as Elandira is firing, he makes a mad grab for one
She shoots him through the neck
He swings his arm around
She dodges, jumping back
He reaches for both his guns
Razlo...er...Livio puts one gun in his mouth and grasps a nail as he attempts to dislodge it
He falls to his knees as Elandira watches
Razlo and Livio converse...and WORK AS A TEAM! (Warm fuzzies!)
Elandira readies for an attack
L/R watch her down the hall...
THEN SHE'S GONE!
She's BEHIND HIM IN HIS BLIND SPOT!
He fires at her head, but she blocks with her case just in the knick of time
He turns to face her
She readies again, then JUMPS UP! ATTACKING FROM ABOVE!
SHE'S BEHIND HIM!
He OPENS FIRE!
She isn't behind him anymore...because...
SHE'S DIRECTLY ABOVE! L/R AIM AND FIRE!
She's been hit! She crouches...and thinks of L/R
Livio thinks he can really do this, but Razlo prepares to leave...
Elandira wipes at her chest...
And looks at the blood...
Chapter 7
Elandira prepares for another attack
RAZLO FLASHBACK!
RAZLO GIVES LIVIO A PEP TALK! THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME! (More warm fuzzies!)
Elandira ATTACKS!
And literally CRUSHES Livio's face in!
Wait a second...this looks like a mind trick again...
He looks straight in front of him and she's GONE!
So...HE SWINGS HIS GUN UP AND SHOOTS STRAIGHT ABOVE HIM! BEHIND HIM! ALL AROUND HIM!
Elandira FALLS to the ground!
He wonders, has he finished it?
Nope, he's just pissed her off...
She shoots a nail in him LITERALLY EVISCERATING HIM (There is some viscera flying through the air on the right side of the panel...)
Livio falls to the ground in a veritable ocean of his own blood
Elandira stands back to survey the results of her attack
She sees a mounted barrel thing covered in the previously mentioned viscera
She wipes it away and kneels down
She thinks of Knives
But but but...
LIVIO ATTACKS AGAIN! He tries to punch her, but she catches his arm and pushes down on his face
He grabs hold of her shoulder
He loses his footing on purpose...
He pulls Elandira down with him as he drinks one more vial
and SLIDES DOWN A NAIL ELANDIRA HAS SHOT THROUGH HIM
Impailing Elandira on her own nail!!!
Chapter 8
Livio is pinned underneath a very dead Elandira
BACK TO VASH! Legato knows Elandira is DEAD
He looks on at Vash, a long, thin feather has come out of his arm
Vash's feather LASHES OUT at Legato automatically
He's not consciously controlling it...
Legato has a flashback to the aftermath of July where he finds Knives blown apart on the ground
Blood SPLURTS OUT OF THE POINTS WHERE VASH'S FEATHER TOUCHED HIM!
Suddenly, Legato pulls the remnants of the mace towards him and CHARGES at Vash!
Vash can do nothing as his feather lashes out in automatic defense...
Splitting the remants of the mace in two
Legato, however, has gotten past his defenses and now holds a gun to his head...
The feather whips around...
And blood flies...
Chapter 9
Legato hits the ground hard, his face bloody
Vash's feather defense system is going CRAZY on him
He's THROWN against a wall
All Vash can do is watch...
Legato's blood is EVERYWHERE
He knows he is going to die
Legato kneels down...
As Vash's feather comes at him again!
Vash thinks of Wolfwood
Legato's shoulder expands and threads go out
Legato points a gun at Vash
He uses his threads to detect Vash's feather defense
Dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge dodge dodge...
Legato LEAPS over Vash...
AND SHOOTS VASH IN THE NECK!
Legato takes a moment to catch his breath...
BUT VASH'S DEFENSE SYSTEM CAUGHT THE BULLET!
and LASHES OUT AT LEGATO!
Meanwhile, the earthers need help finding Vash.
Of course our girls are up to the job!
Above the city, Chronika is reloading her weapon to take out Knives
Bellow them, the operators are still trying to make contact with the plants
They are running long cables from the ship to who knows where...
Oh, they have to shoot a cable directly into the fused plants in order to communicate with them. OF COURSE!
Meryl and Milly show up in space suits
One of the earthers asks what kind of guy Vash is
The girls expound
Meryl smiles as she thinks about him...
EXCEPT THAT RIGHT NOW, VASH IS IN BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD SHAPE
Legato's body is limp and mangled
BUT HE'S NOT DEAD!
He lifts his arm
Chronika at the same time is firing at Knives again!
Legato gets up
He has used his threads to hold his body together for this last hurrah...
Vash stands up and walks towards Legato
Meanwhile, the ship can't fire...it's losing altitude!!
A HUGE chunk of building almost squishes Legato
But Vash shoots it out of the way
Vash takes the coin case...and SHOOTS IT!
Legato points his gun at Vash
They CHARGE AT EACH OTHER!
